ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.
I may live by myself, but that does not mean I’m lonely. There is rarely a day that goes by that I don’t hear from or see one of my family or friends. I have known some though that have little or no family and that need cheering up. There are many lonely people out there that aren’t as lucky as I am. With the large family I have, I am blessed.
I love to send out cards and it’s nice when you cannot visit to just to send an I’m thinking of you card to someone that might need a little cheering up. Of course with technology such as it is today, a simple text message or email can also be easy to send. Taking the time to show we care can make a big difference in someone’s life.
We had quite a bit of rain yesterday, and today there's chance we’ll have more. Tuesday has been my day to mow the yard, but it’s looking like that may not happen.
Today is the visitation at the funeral home for my Aunt that passed away, but I will not be going. It’s out of state and I do not drive that far now by myself. DS#5 had offered to take me but he’s had some serious back problems and that would not be good at all for his back. They will all remain in my prayers and thoughts though as they go through this difficult time. The funeral will be tomorrow. I’ve sent a card and flowers and my love.
Remember to always say I love you to those dear and near to you. You never know what tomorrow might bring.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
Life is mostly froth and bubble,
Two things stand like stone,
Kindness in anthers trouble,
Courage in your own.

WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Blueberry Muffin Day which is another chance to celebrate the wonderful good things about blueberries. I found another blueberry recipe to share. It sounds quite good but I haven’t tried yet. It would definite qualify as a grab and go breakfast.
Blueberry Oatmeal Muffins
1 2/3 cups quick cooking oats
2/3 cup white flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
2 teaspoons grown cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1/4 cup oil
2 teaspoons grated lemon rind
2 large eggs
2 cups blueberries, fresh or frozen
2 tablespoons more flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place oats in * food processor until they resemble a course meal. Place in a large bowl. Add flours and next 5 ingredients and stir well with a whisk. Make a well in center of mixture.
Combine buttermilk and next 3 ingredients in a small bowl and still well then add to flour mixture stirring just until moist.
Toss berries with 2 tables spoons four and gently fold into batter. Spoon batter into 16 muffing cups that have been coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle granted sugar evenly over batter.
Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until muffins spring back when lightly touched in center. Remove from pans to cool. Serve warm or at room temperature.
* I’m not so sure I would put oats in a food processor because I like their texture. We’ll see

ADVICE FOR TODAY
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
